Agriculture & Food: Animal Agriculture

Raising animals -- poultry, hogs, horses, beef and dairy cattle, fish and more -- has become the most valuable segment of North Carolina agriculture. Today, animal agriculture accounts for about 60 percent of the state's total farm cash receipts. North Carolina Cooperative Extension helps growers use the latest research to improve profits and manage animal waste in environmentally sound ways.

NC Cattle Industry Assessment Referendum Vote Set for October 6, 2009

The NC Cattlemen's Association (NCCA) has announced that the NC Cattle Industry Assessment Referendum vote will take place on October 6, 2009. Permission was granted by the Board of Agriculture and arrangements have been made with the NC Cooperative Extension Service to faciliate the vote.
