New STEM Club Kicks Off in Stanfield

A new 4-H Club with a focus on science, technology, engineering, and math was launched on Tuesday, September 19th. Several kids attended the meeting. The group voted to name their club the “All SySTEMs Go 4-H Club”. Youth were split into 3 groups and challenged to build towers with balloons and masking tape. Through this discovery-based style of learning, participants figured out that having a strong foundation is what makes a structure tall and strong. The meeting was followed by refreshments and even more tower-building. The next meeting will be held on Monday, October 16th, at 6:30 in the Loves Chapel United Methodist Church fellowship hall. The group will be learning about buoyancy.
