Chopped: 4-H Edition–a Cooking Event for Youth
If your child likes to cook, they will love this event!
On Saturday, March 23, 2019, at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center in Albemarle, there will be a free cooking event for youth from ages 5 through 18.
This program “Chopped: 4-H Edition” will begin at 10 a.m. with a Favorite Foods Competition. Youth prepare and bring in one or two of their favorite dishes. Their creations will go up against similar recipes made by youth in their age group. Judges will try and critique all dishes. The dishes will be judged on appearance, taste, and age appropriateness.
While the judges taste test all of the entries, youth will be divided into teams to participate in a Chopped Challenge. They will be challenged to make a certain dish solely using the ingredients provided. Each team will have 45 minutes and will be judged on 4 criteria: appearance, taste, uniqueness/creativity, and teamwork.
The event will conclude with an awards ceremony and a tasting party. Registrations will be taken through Friday, March 22 at noon.
Also, please make sure your child is registered at 4HOnline.
