General Interest Club

At our September meeting, our members got to explore the bookstore, learn more about books and how to properly care for them, and talk about how something as simple as taking care of and reusing books connects to our environment theme.

We love finding ways to take our theme beyond the traditional outdoors and show our members that the environment is connected to so many things we do every day!

Rocky River Riders

The Rocky River Riders Club has been very busy this summer! Two of our members (Ava Nelson and Pressley Stroupe) attended Millstone 4-H Camp in June. We secured sponsorships to cover our registration and stall rental fees at the NC 4-H State Horse Show in July where Edyn Stroupe, Pressley Stroupe, Isabel Cox, Ellie Lamotte, Ava Nelson, Hadley Denton represented Stanly County with pride. Thank you to Shoney Lamb, the Trivett Family, Emily Buskey 4-H Education Fund, Sigrid Mottram and Pulse Out Pain for your generous donations! Also in July, Ellie LaMotte, Edyn Stroupe and Isabel Cox represented Stanly County at 4-H Congress in Raleigh AND three of our members took their presentations to State Finals (Ava Nelson, Ellie LaMotte - silver, and Pressley Stroupe - gold). Congratulations! In August, we provided horseback rides at the Stanly Agri-Civic Day event. Thanks to all who came out, said hi or gave a donation to our club - it was so fun meeting all of you! See you at our next meeting (2nd Fridays, 6PM, Oakboro Church of God - 712 N. Main St. Oakboro.

Nature Navigators

The Nature Navigators 4-H Club is back from summer break with a brand new meeting time at the same awesome place. Mark you calendar for the 4th Fridays of each month and join us in the great outdoors at City Lake Park on Friday, September 25th at 6:00PM to kick things off

Stanly County 4-H Achievement Night is about celebrating the hard work and accomplishments of Stanly County youth and the dedication of our 4-H community.

Pickin' In the Pines

Tickets are on sale now for the 8th annual Pickin’ in the Pines benefit concert at Millstone 4-H Camp!

October 17 will be an evening of live bluegrass music, BBQ, a silent auction and more — all in support of an important cause - scholarships that help underserved youth experience summer camp at Millstone. Millstone is a place where many Stanly 4-H'ers have made memories that will last a lifetime!

Since the event began, support from sponsors and attendees has helped send more than 75 youth to camp!

Project Record Books Print or Digital!

Starting with the 2026 program year, 4-H members can complete their project records online using Kaleidoscope as we begin transitioning to a fully digital system.

Submission Options for 2026

• Digital: Complete, save, and update your record online through Kaleidoscope, then print a hard copy for submission.
• Paper: Complete the traditional paper form available on the NC 4-H website.

Both options are fully acceptable this year. Choose the format that best fits your needs, keeping in mind any specific county guidance.

Key Submission Reminder Regardless of the method you choose, all final project records must still be printed and submitted as a hard copy through your county 4-H program unless instructed otherwise.

Kaleidoscope Online Project Record Virtual Help Sessions

North Carolina 4-H recently introduced a new online option for completing project records through Kaleidoscope for the 2026 program year. As 4-H’ers and the adults who support them begin using the system, we will be offering two virtual help sessions in September to answer questions and provide additional support.

These are help sessions rather than introductory training. Participants are encouraged to access and explore Kaleidoscope beforehand and come prepared with questions based on their experience using the system.

Adult Help Session
Monday, September 21 | 7-8 p.m.
This session is designed for 4-H staff, volunteers, parents, guardians and other adults who support youth with project records. Participants can bring questions about navigating Kaleidoscope, the online project record process, and supporting 4-H’ers as they work through their records.

Youth Help Session
Tuesday, September 22 | 7-8 p.m.
This session is designed for 4-H’ers who have begun exploring or working on their project record through Kaleidoscope. Youth should come prepared with questions about navigating the system and creating or completing their online project record.

*All youth must be accompanied by an adult during the session. Only one registration is needed for each youth and accompanying adult.

Both sessions will be held via Zoom. Registration is required, and Zoom information will be sent directly to registered participants.

Please also share these opportunities with 4-H’ers, families and volunteers in your county who may benefit from additional support.

4-H AI Boot Camp

NC 4-H is partnering with the Mark Cuban Foundation to host 4-H AI Bootcamp for high school students.  It will be held at the Harnett County office in Lillington, NC.  

It will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 31, November 7, and November 14, free of charge, and will include lunch. 

Youth will learn about AI tools and create a final project at the end.  Afterward, they will be invited to join the MCF AI Alumni network, which could lead to other connections and opportunities.
